- Wrote extensively on health care issues unique to Iraq and Afghanistan, such as traumatic brain injury, severe injury treatment and recovery, suicide and psychological trauma.
- Completed two embedded reporting trips to Afghanistan in 2011 and 2013 to report on combat operations, training of Afghan military and police, and health care treatment of wounded soldiers overseas.
